Wyoming Art Party

I am a member of the Wyoming Art Party with co-founders June Glasson and Meg Thompson. The Wyoming Art Party is a local artist-run organization whose mission is to organize community art projects and shows that connect individuals, scattered throughout Wyoming, who work in different regions, disciplines (fine arts, writing, music, craft) and from different backgrounds, with the aim of celebrating work that truly represents art in Wyoming as it is, rather than as it is thought to be.  The Wyoming Art Party organizes inclusive projects that celebrate and engage our local communities.

Laramie Pop Up Art Walk

The Laramie Pop-Up Artwalk is an annual weekend long event organized by the Wyoming Art Party in partnership with the Laramie Main Street Alliance. The event includes established galleries alongside “pop-up” shops that showcase the work of local artists, musicians, and performers and features art, live theatre, music, demos, and opportunities for the public to make art.

Parade Project

In the weeks prior to the 2016 Jubilee Days Parade, we hosted a series of free workshops at the UW Art Museum and in our studio at the Laramie Plains Civic Center. We invited the public, individuals, and organizations to come make a mask, costume and decorate their own bike for the parade. We created a float and creative herd with the theme of “Mythical Wyoming Wildlife.” Our mission was to give people the opportunity to participate in their parade and give voice and visual presence to the diverse and rich creative community in Laramie.

Community Work Parties + Art & Activism

We believe in the power of art and creativity. We are not political organizers. We are engaged artists. As our civic duty we open our studio and offer our time to partner with community groups to host creative work parties where people can make posters, write post cards, love letters - anything that creatively communicates their positive message.
